Job Description
Advanced Care LLC is currently hiring for a Developmental Disabilities Specialist position in Washington. Our company is dedicated to helping adults and children with developmental disabilities thrive and achieve their personal goals. The main purpose of this position is to prevent our clients from being institutionalized.
You will work one-on-one with adults with developmental disabilities to design specific, measurable, achievable, and relevant plans which address their individual goals. Goals will fall under these five categories: Self-Empowerment, Safety Awareness and Self Advocacy, Interpersonal Effectiveness and Effective Social Communication, Coping Strategies for life challenges, and managing daily tasks and acquiring new skills. You and the client will use a form to develop goals and create a plan of action. You will need to drive to the client's location to provide services in person.

Schedule
- Full-time and part-time positions available
- Monday to Friday (weekend options available)

Work Location: On the road, providing services at client locations in Washington
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
- Clean background check required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to help others
- Reliable and professional demeanor
- Must be able to work in the United States
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Education, Child Development, Gerontology, or Nursing
- Minimum of 2 years experience working with adults with developmental disabilities
- Knowledge and ability to teach coping skills, communication skills, and develop accessible plans
- Experience using reinforcements and assessing client needs
- Must provide unofficial or official transcripts of your degree
- Must provide references where you worked with adults with developmental disabilities
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities in home and community settings
- Document client progress and maintain accurate records
- Coordinate with team members and healthcare professionals
- Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to all company policies
- Design specific, measurable, achievable, and relevant plans addressing individual goals
- Implement behavior management strategies and support plans tailored to individual needs
- Teach specific skills to support client independence
- Develop and implement skill acquisition programs in areas such as self-empowerment and safety awareness
- Collect and analyze data on skill development and behavior
- Apply evidence-based techniques to support client learning
- Adapt teaching strategies to individual client learning styles
- Regularly review and update goals based on client progress
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Education, Child Development, Gerontology, or Nursing required
Salary Range
$25 - $35 /hourly
